This is Worth Knowing, a newsletter about growing in wisdom and understanding.
A note-worthy moment in my life was when someone pointed out, “You want to be known, but you don’t want to tell anyone anything.” I couldn’t have agreed with him more heartily.
How do I let myself be known safely? What do I say? How do I trust? Prior and after that comment, I’ve struggled with the truth of that statement and have endeavored to put my toe in the lake being known. I’ve failed and flailed, but found some success, too. I’ve had to flush the voices that tell me I have nothing to say, and no one wants to hear it if I did. Sometimes, that voice was my own, but I’ve kept at it. Supported, buoyed and strengthened, I think I’m ready to share my thoughts and experiences because believe it or not, my life has value and I have something to give, but most of all, I’m worth knowing.
You’re worth knowing, too. Not because we think we’re better than, but because we have value just in being who we are. We all can contribute and I’ve much growth to experience yet and I hope to track that learning here. You’re welcome to join me.
